Welcome aboard! Here are a few tips that will make your ride on Metrolink Weekend trains more enjoyable.
  1. Check the schedules for the most current arrivals and departures.
  2. Find your station. For the stations nearest your home and destination, check the maps under Inland Empire-Orange County Line and Orange County Line.
  3. Before you head to the train station, find out about local bus route connections and schedules to your final destination by visiting www.commutesmart.info and clicking on the Bus/Rail Planner, visit www.octa.net/tripplanner OR call 714-636-RIDE (7433) for transit information from Orange County destination stations. If a shuttle serves your final destination, be aware that the shuttle meets each arriving train, so when you arrive board your shuttle immediately. Use your Metrolink Weekends ticket to ride FREE connecting local OCTA buses. For FREE connecting transit in Oceanside call NCTD Breeze (760) 966-6500.
  4. Arrive at your station 30 minutes before departure to allow time for purchasing tickets and finding your boarding platform. At some stations you must use a pedestrian overcrossing to reach the Metrolink Weekends boarding platform.
  5. Before you board the train, purchase your ticket from a ticket vending machine at any Metrolink station. Select the “Special Tickets” button. Please present your ticket to the fare inspector upon request. Tickets aren’t sold on the train, so you must have a valid ticket before boarding.
  6. Passengers should arrive at their station and purchase tickets at least 30 minutes prior to boarding. Up to 3 children 5 years of age and under can travel for free with a valid fare. No additional discounts (i.e. Senior, ADA, Youth) apply to Metrolink Weekends discounted fares. Group Tickets can be ordered via Metrolink, see www.metrolinktrains.com and select Tickets & Fares for details. Riders may use Metrolink Monthly Passes and 10-trip tickets for appropriate stations. No refunds will be provided to 10-trip ticket holders. Published fares are based on current weekday fares and may be subject to change at any time.
  7. Signs at the station will direct you to the correct track for your train. To ensure that you board the correct train, look for the electronic sign in the window of each passenger car. This sign indicates the final station stop for that train.

Leave the sand on the beach. Change wet and/or sandy clothing before boarding the train.

Safety First
  1. Stand well behind the yellow line on the platform.
  2. Hold on to your children, trains are located on busy rail corridors and it is likely freight trains at full speed will pass through while you are waiting.
  3. Do not cross the yellow line until the doors of the train open.
  4. Do not approach or walk across tracks unless directed to do so by Metrolink staff.
